Maxi-Jet 1200 Reliability

How reliable are maxi-jet 1200's in circulation mode when used with an old fashion red sea wave maker? I found a stash of 1200's as well as the wave maker boxed away in the garage. I have used them in a conventional way with no issues just wonder if the circulation mode is any less reliable.

Going to take my new 65g sps old school for a while then bring it up to new technology over the new year or two as it matures.

I have always had issues with using them in power head configuration. The anti backspin makes tons of noise.

IF they are left constantly on they are as reliable as it goes. I would not use them in that mode for reasons above.
