Maxi-jet Mods from mjmods.com

I just got a few tunze 6000's and need a little more flow in the bottom of the tank. I don't have the cash for another tunze at the moment and I have about 1000 maxi-jets 1200's (not really but I do have a few).

I would like to mod a couple of the MJ's but don't have the necessary tools or access to them. If I order a setup from mjmods what else do I need to implement this mod? How difficult is it to put these kits into effect and what are your experiences with them.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
CG

I modded my 1200 and 900, its a fantastic mod.. get 1000-1500 gph through them now. I bought the parts from mjmod, you just have to assemble the impeller stuff. There is a huge thread here on rc about it also.

I just saw the mods from another place that are TIGHT!!! I am going to contact them and see what is up with their mods.

BTW if that doesn't pan out what extra tools do you need to assemble the impeller stuff?

i just did it from mjmods and all it took was some superglue and something to cut whichever material you use for the prop and shaft they send you several choices. GOod luck

I just confirmed my order with REEFDOM.com.

They had some glitches with their site, but they have been almost totally corrected. They did do the right thing for the website problems by giving me a $10.00 off code.

Their mod looks a million times better than the mjmods site, plus there is about zero assembly.

For the price difference I hope so. There are step by step instructions on mjmods site so simple that anyone can do it without even purchasing their stuff. A pretty cool video also.

how much are those that I posted running? It said that the site is messed up and I couldn't find a price. Nevermind I found it. They are pricey but man they look good.

It'll all look the same covered in coraline. :D

I purchased a premade MJ mod from another reefer. It seems to put out quite a rattle that I haven't pinpointed. The nice part is that the MJ mod folks have already updated their product listings with better materials. The flow is quite amazing and I have not given up on this one. I use it for about an hour a day, and my SPS seem to love it when it's on.
