I saw the thread the other day about using magnets with super glue to atach maxijets. Does any one know of a place that sells magnets besides magna floats that are safe for the aquarium and cheap enough to make sense>???

That seems like a good idea. You could move the MJ anywhere in the tank. If you're going to try it, tell me how it works.

I've got two that way actually. A small one in my 10 gal and a large one in the big tank. However, I think he was asking for magnets that weren't the mag floats...

Which is understandable considering what they want for the big magnets. That's why I searched around for a used one. Could use another of the big ones too. It's very easy to do. You glue just the mounting bracket to the float, that way if you need a new pump or want to switch sizes of MJ or whatever, you just slide the one off and the replacement on.

When I was trying to find a cheaper magnet to use on mine I ended up biting the bullet and getting the mags because of all the problems I read about others. Leaking, rust like materials coming out, getting weak, etc. The large ones cost 25 ea if online but you should have them for a long long time. Used is a great idea too if you can wait around long enough.

I think the cheapest I've seen them locally is at GWA. I believe he had the big ones for like $22 or so.

That's better than online right now AND keeps the money local!

Good ideas on that thread and even tighter mount than the magfloats.

Order the 154 lb ones and you have a place to put the kids in time out!

We have one of those really strong ones with a hook on it you can use like on your front door glass to hang a wreath or what not. Magnets are really powerful and I've actually had my finger pinched between them before.
