Maxijet mod trial #2

Hi All,

Just a quick update, I did get my money refunded from Triton and I want to thank them for that. I think if they put the extra nylon washer in with the kit it will solve some customer irritation problems in the future. I know it would have solved mine.

Dave

I could have sworn mine did come with 2 washers. Maybe the sureflo kit I am thinking of.

I'm glad they gave you a refund. Would be nice to see them go out of the way to make things right with people that bought the first round of mods. I've since heard claims from lutz people are still using them, but I sure don't see how.

He did go out of his way to send me 1 of the new kits free as a replacement for the 2 old style kits I have still sitting in a bag of maxi jet parts. I guess Kevin just hasn't been vocal enough about his disappointment?

Guess I should also say the kit he sent is still running without problem.

I've got a wave maker I wanted to put both mods on to see if I could recreate a restart issue, but I need to find another of the factory hang on rim maxi jet brackets so I can keep an eye on it.

LOL I have been very vocal and I have gotten an email from Matt Lutz himself telling me to change my posts to show his product and his person in a different light but I still haven't been offered anything in exchange for the 4 units I bought last year. He said that he ran a "buy 3 get one free" special so I only PAID for 3 of them. I guess that only entitles me to 3 refunds if he decides to go that route but I am not holding my breath. It has been a couple weeks since I sent the reply to his email. He said I ONLY spent $60 plus shipping and not the $88 or $90 that I claimed in my previous posts and that is correct. I am sorry that I made a mistake when stating the amount of money that I have invested into the crappy things that I gave up on. It was one of those things like a Berlin skimmer or Seaclone that everyone has and just throws in a pile because it is junk.

I am glad you got your refund Dave. It sounds like it wasn't very easy and you got the runaround which is SOP for this company. I really don't think I will ever get my money back or a working product but sure wish they would make things right.

Erik did you ever get yours yet or do you have to bug them more and then drive somewhere to meet someone to collect your money?

Wouldn't it make more sense for them to put your check in an envelope and send it? I mean if it is a matter of the 42 cent stamp I think you would probably be OK with them subtracting that from money you are owed.

I know I would be happy to give up postage. Seems strange to have to give your money to someone else to give to you at another time.

WHen it works, alot more. over 2000gph

When it doesn't work what does it do? Heat your tank by 10 degrees or so?

sorry but ive read and reread the thread and the only thing i could get from it is that you were running them but not anymore. my question is if there putting out 2000gph how many would you recommend for a 125gal tank?

You've got to be kidding. If you can't see people having issues with the product and you needed it spelled out to you your answer is to how many for a 125. This is my opinion of them after dealing with them, and reading others post on the net.
Answer=Zero

Hope that helps

I know alot of people have been having problems with this product but I have two of these mods that I've been running for two months now with no problems. I think they could be made better I have alot of water flow but nothing that looks like 2000gph from both

You must have a different mod. Theres 3 out
This thread is about the high flow mod gs2 from triton aquatics.
So if you have a question on your mod that your using please state the kind/brand your using so you don't confuse us anymore :)
The gs2 kit puts out a ton of flow you'd know you were running the high flow gs2 kit if thats what you have.

Iam running the GS2 the biggest one that was sold to us in the oct meeting. I put it in my 72gal and yes crazy amount of flow. but now i have two of them in my 125 still getting good flow just want to know if thats too much

ah.
Atleast yours are working then thats a bonus
to much flow is a hard thing to do, if your corals are responding well to the increased flow then thats a good thing. If there closing up and looking burnt or flesh coming off thats to much flow. So this thread doesn't jump to much off topic you should start a new thread on flow
