MaxiJet sureflow 1600gph?

thansk... you are talking about the actual prop itself right? Not the shaft it fits in...my prop is white... did I mistakenly get the high flow model?
 
You know you CAN swap out the propellers on the GS2 right?

Just get yourself a smaller propeller that uses a 3/16" shaft hole and switch it out and you're good to go.
 
I know that... I am just wondering why I got the high flow...I am not upset about it...if I install the other one is 5000gph too much flow in a 180 gallon...I don't really want to spend any more buying another propeller...
 
I don't think 2 GS2 in a 180g is too much. I've 2 GS2, 1 SF 1600, 2 K4s and a Tunze 6000 and I can tell you the PBT, and the Golden Butterflies swims right into the hi-flow area all the time so they must be enjoying it. I don't see any of my other smaller angels have any problem in the hi-flow area.

Someone with the G2 please help. I have been running this mod for a little less than a week. It worked fine until today. It will run normal for a minute then it starts to chatter. It looks like the impellor they provide is coming off the magnet or the tip of the magnet and hits the anti stop and keeps doing this over and over. I can not get this to work right. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
 
^^ Are you using a MJ900? If so this won't work for the GS2 highflow kit (white propeller) and you'll need a MJ1200 instead. That or switch to a smaller propeller.
 
No reason why it wouldn't work with a SEIO controller. I've friends running MJ mods, SEIOs, Koralias, on SEIO controller and they all work fine.

I am running a MJ 1200. It seems that the impellor is just too loose. I emailed the company and they told me to add a 2nd washer, which I did It ran for about an 1 or so then started to chatter really bad, and chatter it does. It seems like it pulls out a little then starts to hit the anti stop and keeps doing this over and over. Any Ideas on how to fix this?

I bought 4 of these, and 2 propellers already broke, they were lose like yours and then broke. The propellers in the gs2 are tighten with a lil piece of metal, on the sure flow I believe they are glued

The gs2 come with a lifetime warranty, lets see if they back it up.

I just got the high-flow propellers and reinforced brackets from Algae Free and these things are INCREDIBLE. I've got 4 of these running on MJ1200s in my 220 and the flow is NUTS!!! I know I'm going to have to make some adjustments once I get livestock in it, but for right now it's just cool to watch the breaks and vortexes on the surface.

What prop do you have on it? The Dumas(white) or Octura(brown)?
 
dhnguyen- I have the white prop. It works fine for a few minutes then starts chatter. It looks like it is hitting the anti stop but the prop flexes and then it won't spin right. Make any sense?

Sounds like the prop maybe a bit too much for your pump. How old is this MJ1200?


I never had any problems with mine FWIW.
