Maxima Clam .....

Just purchased a Maxima Clam yesterday and would like to keep it on the sand ... if Im not mistaken, they like to be attached to some live rock ...

Is there anything else you can use to keep them attached besides live rock and keep them on the sand... like maybe a small square piece of acrlylic so they can attach .... it keeps on leaning to the side and I always have to prop it back up

I've had my 3 max's on the sand for over a year now no probs

you can always place them on half a shell that is buried under the sand.

A small piece of rock or shell works great for them to attach to allowing you to move them when you want to. I have found that clams that are placed straight onto sand have a tendancy to move around to try to increase their light reception (ie. parallel with front glass) but I still leave my squamosas on sand. I keep my maxima on rockwork higher in the tank.
