maxima mantle problems

Hello guys I have a maxima clam I have had over a year now. I noticed this a few months ago that his mantle that doesn't see the light as much is bleached looking.

I don't think you can see it in the pic but here are the most recent pics I have

I also noticed over the past few weeks the clam turned. He seems to be fine not acting any different but I don't know. My bulb was changed a few months ago so I don't think its the light.

Any ideas?

the turning is normal, he is probably trying to get more even light. the bleaching is also normal, without light the zooxanthellae cannot thrive in that portion of the mantle, couldn't you move him a bit so he receives full light??

I don't really wanna try to move him until I move the tank in a 2 months. I dont want to stress him out to bad. I did have him up in the rock work but he jumped down a year ago. Since the pic he turned him self vertical and is staying put. I will get some pics and tank readings later this week. Thanks for the replies

How big is that thing? Looks pretty big.

Anyways, see if the areas where it is starting to turn white in pigment are being shaded by other parts of the mantle? It looks like it. That happens a lot. For instance I have a Squamosa that is about 9 inches long, underneath it's incurrent siphon is nearly completely white just because the siphon is blocking the light from reaching that area.

I am just looking at the way it looks like where the two big folds on what would be the top of the clam comes together, kind of hangs over that middle of that fold in the center.
