Maxima not doing well

10 days ago I put a maxima into my 120gal reef. I have 2-250 MH and 4 VHO's. My water has been fine the corals have been happy. On Tuesday I bumped up th ph from 7.9 to 8.4. A bit too quick. Alk 3, Ca 480. I have been feeding DT's every oyher day. The clam sits about 2.5 - 3 ft from MH bulbs. I wanted to write in on Wed because I noticed the colors were not as vivid as when I first put the clam in the tank. Yesterday a big snail was climbing up the side of the snail so I pulled it off with my grabbers. The clam fell over, closed and han to be repositioned. I put it in the same place but it has not stood up yet. The mantel has gone into the shell. Is there any hope? I just found a red legged hermit at the clams opening.

never leave a clam laying on its side. you need to upright it asap. the mantel can lighten if the light in your tank is brighter then it was previously kept under, that is normal.

I guess that is possible. I just don't have a lot of experience with them. It looked great in the store. Any suggestions on another attempt.

how long has your tank been up for?? cuz clams need mature tanks and for a tank to mature it can take any where from 6-12 months
