Maxima question??????

I have a 3" blue maxima. It is doing great but I have one concern last night I noticed that it's intake hole was closed and did not open it at all. When the lights went out it opened it very little. Is there something wrong or is it normal? I 2 croceas and they are opening ok.

it is hard to tell with the pic being so small. I would get it out of the possible shadow of the crocea and up on the rocks. How big is that crocea, it looks huge.

Since I have you answering here is another question Do you think the 4-24watt t-5 bulbs are enough for these clams? I have a chance on getting a 6 bulb fixture w/individual reflectors. The one I have is a single reflector.

If you can afford the fixture with reflectors I think it would be a wise investment.

what color temp. are your bulbs, the tank looks very blue??

i agree also, get the new fixture. the individual reflectors are so much better than having just one.
