came home and found my maxima clam retracted all the way, it is not die yet cause i try to touch it, it closed up. He is about 2 1/2". Been in my tank about 2 months.
Few days ago, it was on the rock but decide to move, so it felt to the bb which is only about 3 inch high from rock. I picked him up and he kept falling. I havent done anything much, other than add 1 tunze stream along with multicontroller. He was happy and i couldnt tell if there is anything different. I was afraid it could be abit much flow for him but it didnt bother the clam.
My tank is faily new, 75 gal about 4 months, nitrate is 0, nitrite is 0, ammonia is 0, sal is 400, ph is 8.0-8-4. Light is 2-250 DE MH with phoenix bulbs (2 months old), alk is about 10 last time i checked. all my test kit is salifer, ph monitor. I got CA reactor too. and dose kalk as top off water
I just did about 15 gal water change last nite, this morning the clam still retracs, it opens the shell, but mantle is all the way inside, i decide to move the clam directly under light in different spot to see if this help.
Any ideas what wrong with my clam, i need to recue it, if i dont have all the tank info, please let me know so we could determine what would be the cause.
My tank is mostly sps, i have a crocea which doing very well now, all sps are happy, nothing die off or something wrong that i could've tell. Just no idea on the clam, this is my first time trying to keep the clam, really need more tips, thanks
