maxima shed foot

I have a maxama clam that fell off the rock and left what appears is the foot plus a lot of thick fleshy filaments attached to the rock. i thought the clam died, but is doing great.

my clown fish were very fat afterwards even though I don't feed them that much. in fact a couple of days i did not feed them and they were still fat.

anyone ever hear of such a thing?

yep, the byssal thread. Not uncommon for it to slough off. I must say, the first time I found that in my tank I had no clue what it was. rather gross looking!

When my Derasa shed his I thought it was my Goby. Scared me to death until I realized what it was and my Goby was doing fine
