Maxspect LED owners!!!

My 2x160w are still operating at a maximum of 46 degree celsius. Although 1 of it has some stuttering problem with the 30w led light bulb. Still am happy with this lightset even though the term 'shilling' is a reminder of my decision to go with this lightset.

Hi guys, I have an Elos mini 17" cube and woul dlike to light it with a Maxspec G2-60

How is the color of it when all LEDs are on? is it dimmable? how manny plugs does it have?

THX in advance

Anyone know where we can get longer cord from the fixture to the pwersupply? The one supplied with it seems a bit short for my needs.

I asked Fish Street about a longer cable from the light unit to the controller... was told they couldn't do it because of signal loss... (not sure I subscribe to this theory).

As for the cord it should be very easy to count the strands, buy a similar one (electronic surplus store) at the new longer length, remove the fittings from the original and install on the new. Signal loss, yeah right! there are no signals in this system, only power, a few extra feet will not change a darn thing.

anyone has an idea on the coverage of these guys?

i was thinking of either 2x60w or 1x110w or 1x160w for an sps dominated 60x30x36cm. the light would be on the tank itself using stands as i can't use the ceiling or hanging stands. i'm wondering which would allow me to keep sps even at the sides on the sandbed?

using 2x60w allows me to shift more towards both sides and also eliminates the moonlight issue some may not wish to have. is it right so say it would be stronger than a 110w since it is 10w more, though i'm not sure if this 10w goes to the extra power supply etc instead on pure bulb strength

would like to know if anyone has issues with old bulbs for the maxspect? since these bulbs are said to be needed to change annually especially the 30w ones, is there any drop in par measured etc?

many thanks!

Mine will be running a year in June and I've not seen a negative change in lighting, sps growth has actually improved but I chalk that up to better husbandry of late. I don't test par, nor do I really care if everything looks good, but would be interested to know the answer to that as well. IMO I do not see having to change out the bulbs in a years time, but if so it would be a good time to switch to some cree maybe and different colors.

Any of the choices you listed will work. I have a G2-160 on a 51x51x47cm tank and it is more than enough. I think the G2-110 will be better for your tank, because your tank is not too deep (top to bottom). 2 G2-60's would also work, but it all comes down to your preference. I would buy the G2-110, because I think one G2-110 unit over the tank will look better than 2 G2-60's.

I would say it's a 13k to 14k look, not bad but definitely not radium like blue. You can achieve a bluer look if you also order some blue LEDs to replace a few of the whites and both the actinic ones. There are stock, 10 whites, 2 actinics & 6 blues.
One cord, you cannot dim or control the lights.

Did not have have time to post picture and I got a little fight over red bug but finally treat with interceptor now the growth is back to phenomenal

thanks for the advise, how easy would it be to replace the LEDs and would I need to order the maxpect LEDs Cree bulbs trough Fins reef?

I would like to maybe get at least a 1 to 1 ratio of white vs royal blue..
