Now that my reef tanks in place in the living room, I'm thinking of starting a FOWLR tank either in my bed room or what would be the dining room if I were not single :hmm3:
I think I will go with at least a 75g standard tank. No corals and maybe a lot of macro's with a power filter no plumbing. I know I will want angel fish and puffers but the question is which ones.

lets get your best and worst fish for a FOWLR tank everyone. let me know the greats and the never ever again fish lol.

I'm thinking of a Mimic Saddle Puffer for the puffer.

Spanish Hogfish is a beautiful fish but is definitely FOLWLR only and then only with fish thats too big to fit in its mouth.

180 or bigger though.

Do a 120 instead of a 75~.

Fowlr I would go blue face angel,HT tusk, maybe a porcupine puffer

I see a trend....

Hmm, well a bigger tank would be nice, if I put it in the dining room I could go as big as 200g, but for the bedroom I'd have to stay under 100g and a standard shape to run along my wall.

I do like the blue face, and the husker is a freaking neat fish, both good picks

100-120, not a big difference, but footprint says it all. What footprint do you have? 120 is a mere 48 24 24

a dining room 200 would be nice because you would have a much larger selection of fish you could choose from. Alot of FOWLR fish that I would pick get pretty large

hmm. I'm gonna have to do some measuring. I guess I could go for a deep tank, like a 150 tall or maybe a bit more. Since I wont need pricy lights I could opt for a better filter and hood so things look nice. Something in those sizes would go in my dining room for certain.
I have a 6x4 foot space to use, and the budgets not really a problem as long as I don't go crazy.
I figure I'll need some more large power-heads, a really good power-filter, a cheaper controllable t5 light and some rock.
I'm going to start shopping online for ideas and drive up and walk around the stores tomorrow to get an idea of the size I want to go with. I would like a really deep tank, that's one thing I miss with my reef tank.

my 220 is 6x2 so you can do plenty in a 6x4 space.

A 180, 220, or even 300 DD would fit in a 6' x 4' space.

Wow, its up to 300 DD :D that's something to think about lol. I went to Lee's store today Corals and More and his new FOWLR in the store is freaking amaze-ballz, its got to be over 500g tall and the rockwork is awesome. I wish I had that kind of room! I'm shopping around for a tank and stand that will look good in the room, once I get that locked down I'll start collecting up all the stuff I'll need to get it up and running.
