maybe new green bta

I am thinking of gettting a green BTA that has a maroon clownfish with it from my lfs. I am wondering do they need a lot of light and current. I have a 115 gal. with a regal, 3 yellow tailed damsels. The lfs checked my water and said everything looked good. I am worried though because it looks like the clownfish is rubbing the bta pretty good and I am wondering if that is bad. I watched him for quite some time and he never left the bta. Is that normal?

What lights do you have?

How big is the maroon, and how big is the anemone? Clowns (( maroons especially )), can actually love their anemones to death if the clown is too big compared to the anemone -- would like the anemone to be at least 3 times the size.

Your profile indicates that you're a new reefkeeper (welcome!); how long has your tank been set up? If it's still fairly new (say, less than six months) you might want to wait. Even if you have to pass up this one, clownfish/BTA combos aren't too hard to come by, especially from other hobbyists--I see them come up for sale on this site and a local reefing community forum fairly regularly.

thanks for the input. Yes velvetelvis I am new and completely addicted. I actually got the tank from a guy at the lfs and it has been set up for 3 years. Toddrtrex I am not sure what kind of lights exactly... I know there is a metal halide and two pc. I will have to ask the guy I got it from. Thanks again for the input it is most helpful.
