maybe purchasing a uv light, thoughts?

Well, I've been running one for about 6 months. I thought I was getting benefits but now that ya'll mention it about the same time I started running a carbon canister which could easily explain the water clarity. I don't have algae problems but then again I don't seem to grow much of the Coraline algae either. I see now that this light isn't doing any good but could it actually be doing Harm?:worried:
