Maze Brain care

I'm considering this coral. It looks pretty bright (is that right?)

It would be in the top 1/3 of my tank under T5s and would get moderate to high flow. Would this be OK?

Thanks!
Angela

mine extends 8-10" sweepers. when it was higher up in the tank it used to extend them over a foot in the higher flow. now i keep it in a corner atleast 15" away from anything else. i disturbed it last week and spit out a huge slime ball that caught my 6-line. i was luckaly able to save her.

It definitely has some serious sweepers. (6+") I haven't had mine do any damage though. I keep it low in a 180g under 250MH's (14k's). We have two vortech's (one on each end) so it gets the under tow. But it's not getting a ton a current, but not low flow either.

It's neighbors are cloves, lobo, acans, duncans, and a digi. My (former) hammer killed more neighbors (sigh).

Whoa! nevermind, my tank is only 20g!

How about galaxea? I want something super bright but that can stand some flow. Can't do sps I don't think due to no MH lighting.

i think galaxea is more aggressive than the maze. if you have the room though they are nice i have a black w/ white/green tips thats nice. how about neon green toadstool or a neon finger leather?

Already have Fiji yellow leather. Not doing more leathers.

Acan Echinatta can stand somewhat moderate flow. I have a very bright piece of Orange Crush:

Angela, I just found this pic. I had this Pineapple Brain in my old 20gal. It was one of my first corals. It's not super bright, but the sweepers have stayed at about 3-4" and it's been in high and low flow, and high and low light areas. Seems to do well in about any spot in my tank.

Hi Jim, the Acan is pretty. I thought they were lower flow- guess not. Doesn't look like something you could frag, though.

The brain is nice, but I'm looking for whopping bright colors. Also, I have no green, so would like some green if possible.

I have some orange cap that doesn't seem like it's getting enough light, so I might have to trade it up and get something else orange.

:)

Yeah that Acan is pretty small still. They aren't very fast growers. I started with only one head though, and now it's got about 8 or 9. It has never been in an extremely high flow, but it hasn't minded being in a moderate flow spot.
