McCosker's Wrasse Question

I recently purchased a male McCosker's Wrasse and have ordered two juveniles to give him a couple of ladies to impress. If I quarantine the two juveniles for one month, will either of them have had adequate time to become a male? What's the typical time frame for a flasher wrasse to assume it's permanent gender?

i dont think you will have any issues .i have had some wrasses switch in a few months and some have not switched in 7 of 8 years so you never know .

How did you find juvies!? I've been trying for a while now to get some females for my mccoskeri and no luck. I love my little McCosker, he likes to swim with my clowns. Wish he had some girls around to flash for

Twiggy, I asked my LFS to order a couple and just assumed that she would find them available. We'll see if there is any problem finding them. My last visit to LiveAquaria.com showed they have the little ones. You could try there. Thanks, Wrasseman, I'll go ahead and QT them.

Try emailing BlueZooAquatics or Vivid Aquariums, they don't list them as stocked on their website but I emailed both of them and they both said they could get females for me. I ended up ordering from Vivid because I liked their return policy and they said they could ship them earlier than BZA. We'll see how they are when I get them though, they are a little on the pricy side for females though but I couldn't find anywhere else that had them cheaper.
