Being new to the sump world, I installed a small 10 gallon refugium about a month ago. I have notice a severe increase in particulate matter that seems to collect in bottom of the fuge. Especially the cheato that seems to get really clogged up with debris. After a water change I rinsed out the cheato and was pretty much amazed on how much crap it was collecting. Is there any ill effects of all of this particulate matter? The return pump has a pre-filter that I clean every two weeks, so the main tank water never sees the debris that collects. Do you recommend a filter sock on the overflow? I kinda do not know what one is, it is just a plain cotton sock, or something you have to order, my LFS has no clue. Thanks...
