Media Reactor?

Anyone ever built any of the DIY media reactors? Which works best? Looking to start running GFO.

For the price of commercial ones out there, its almost not worth building one. You can get a Two Little fishes one, for $30 something and the double ones from Bulk Reef Supply, for like $50 something.

I built a DIY reactor using an old RO unit. I bought the refillable canisters from BRS and it works quite well. I have it tee'd off my return line with a valve to control the amount of flow through it. It still cost me like $40 to build as i had to replace all the JG fittings and new line.
