Media Reactor

I just noticed you're in Oz.
If you like it you could inquire if they ship internationally.

I just bought one and its huge... Its a NextReef MR1 Monster Media Reactor. They run about $180 tho. :( free shipping

Specifications:
Recommended Tank Size: 600 gallons Marine / 1200 gallons Freshwater
Height: 23" Overall Height / 21" Reaction Chambers (585mm / 535mm)
Footprint: 12.5" x 6" (325mm x 150mm)
Reaction Chamber: 21" x 4" (Dual) (535mm x 100mm)
Total Capacity: 465 cubic inches / 2.0 gallons / 255 fluid ounces / 7.6 litre
Inlet / Outlet: 1/2" 90 Degree Barb Fittings - fits standard 1/2" ID tubing

Forgot to mention it has dual chambers... One for GFO and one for Carbon. That way you can change out the carbon more often without having to change the GFO since it lasts longer.

Thanks aquaman.......it is expensive and I'm sure it wouldnt be free shipping to oz? Btw.....doesnt GFO require a different flow rate to carbon?

I have the BRS reactor, theres nothing particularly unusual about it. You can asemble one yourself if you can find the larger 1/4"id or 3/8" poly tubing used. the main components are the refillable DI resin canisters (take the fine mesh out and use a coarse sponge cut round) inside two std. water filtration canisters. Just get the ones meant for higher flow and have the large threaded holes, not the 1/8" NPT small ones

the MJ 900 pump hooks up directly into a john guest coupling fitting on the end of the hose just like a piece of tubing would.

I had a series of custom made acrylic fluidised filters made by a guy in Brisbane. He does an excellent job. They are around 100mm diam. and 550mm high and are connected with unions to allow me to run them separate or together.
