While I was in Marine Solutions this weekend I was checking out one of their tanks and I saw a pair of tiny mantis eyes peering out of a hole in a piece of live rock rubble. I've been looking for a tiny mantis for a while now so I had him bagged and brought him home. He's currently in my pico tank with his dinner (hermits). Here are a few pics:

sorry about the crappy pics, he doesn't want to come out and play yet. If anyone has any clue about an ID (despite the crappy pics) feel free to give your input!

Sweet, glad to see you found one you liked. I have seen you in the mantis forum so you probably know about this site http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/arthropoda/crustacea/malacostraca/eumalacostraca/royslist/ this is where I ID'd mine.

Yes I did get the frag pack...I HIGHLY recommend Typhon! Frags are doing excellent, I got oversized frags and freebies too! If they were here in my tank I'd take pics of them but they're being babysat elsewhere.

Dennis I would ID him but he will never leave his little hole in the rock! :lol: If you look at the FTS his "burrow" is the rock with the hole in it on the righthand side next to the green zoas. How big was Freddie when you got him?

about an inch and a half when I got him. almost two and a half now. try and lure it out with slver sides and be ready to snap a pic. they can not resist the smell in the water. :thumbsup:

I've been trying to lure him out with tiny hunks of silversides but he snuffs his nose at it.
