I can't help but wonder if that wouldn't be prefered by a number of you. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I miss a meeting and you don't have to listen to me go on and on
I think it is all about vested time and money. If someone never attends a meeting (not just missing a few but all) and doesn't pay dues then I don't care to listen to that voice.
I'm going to refer back to C.O.R.A. on this one. Based upon my understanding. I cannot say what all privileges paid members get but one is voting rights. If someone invests their money buy paying dues I think they deserve a vote. To run for an office, not only do they pay membership but are also required to attend 'x' number of meetings year ('x' would be defined by the clubs bylaws which would be well established before any dues or votes take place). People who don't attend meetings nor pay dues have limited say. They still get benefits but I doubt they have much say so in the direction of the club.
Whether or not if this model would work for a smaller group I dunno, but I hoped it could be discussed in a civilized manner at the meeting. Based upon the input I'm seeing, I'm not sure what purpose the meeting serves anymore. It sounds like several of you feel that anyone deserves an equal say regardless of who you are, were you live, and even if you ever plan on participating.
