Meeting Idea's

I suppose I'm more concerned with too few people rather than too many. They might have minimum requirements for people using a room.

I'm not sure what to expect on length but I'd hate to be limited by 2 hours if that also included eating.

(edit to add)
I'll see what I can find out about the South Charleston Public Library tomorrow.

Haha yeah that's a good idea, wings, beer and fish talk. Seriously though I'm not sure how well a library would be suited, just seems like we'd ahve to be too quiet.

State conference room - do I have to wear a suit?
Hooter's
Hooter's
Hooter's

heh, im more simplistic than hooters allows for..

i have a friend that works at a pseudo hooters ;) in barboursville. im sure we could make arrangements to have it there. but its dark, and loud.

i also expect a minimum turn out..

I'm starting to think that a Sports Bar might be great place to get to know one another better but not ideal to discuss the nuts and bolts of the club. In loud environments it will be easy for some peoples voice to literally not be heard. The private room to the side of Panera or a Library would be better suited for that I feel.

What do you guys (and gals) think? Do you want to discuss some core issues of the club or meet and greet?

Not that I would mind Hooter's - but I wouldn't mind anywhere else either.
Whatever location that would draw the most people is what we should do.
I think it'd be cool to have access to the internet during our meets.

Would the people that are farthest away chime in and let us know what is more convenient or more doable for you all?

I was thinking that if it was held out near Corridor G then the wives could shop.
(I know- shut up Curtis)

Haha, I'm all for beer, but how many here actually drink, because I don't want to sway some members from coming just because they're will be alcohol, if it comes between drinking, and meeting other hobbyist, I will have to choose members. If it is cool with everyone else though it's cool with me.

This coming weekend ain't real good, but I won't be angry if you guys have it without me. Saturdays are better than sundays. I like beer. Corridor G/Charleston area is fine, anywhere in there really.

We don't know when, but I can say it won't be this weekend. ;)

I was thinking mid-late February potentially even a weekday evening. Still, the exact time can be dictated by the venue so we should concentrate on it first.

I hear the tables there are sticky too. :D

Amen!

Mike fwiw there's no way we can make the Charleston area during the week.

Is it looking like 2-6-10?
Saturday, February 6th?
How about 11:00am?
Vote!

I watch the little one all weekend while my wife works. I should be able to get a sitter but that just depends on their schedules. I will say that if it is on a weekend that the afternoon works better for me.

Is the Charleston Area okay for everyone? I hoped to make it down around Scott Depot/Hurricane to help split the distance a little for those in KY and OH. If Charleston is acceptable, there is more to choose from and several of us are more familiar with the area so it would probably be easier to find a place.

Speaking of location, has that been figured out? I didn't call the library because it wasn't seeming a popular choice. However, It does sound like they have a separate room so we should be able to meet and speak at a reasonable level. Then the opportunity still exists for beer either before or after the meeting. No shortages of places to go. :)

It would be nice not to sent the people from KY and OH home in the dark.

I saw where DFWMAS had a tank tour recently for a meeting. They toured 7 homes.
This was mentioned before in the other club. I sure hope things lighten up and people feel more free to have meets at houses.

That I guess will take time. Why not just have a projector and each one present their tank setup and then a Q&A?
