Mega Flow tanks

I must be blind because I don't see where he said it has two U-tubes.

My bad...thought he said that it was a double.

Look into my other suggestions...one of them IS the problem.

Andrew I'd love to pick it up for you but my wife won't ride in the van that far... maybe somebody with an SUV:cool:

Well I could cover that but then someone would be paying a bunch for the extra gas and it wouldn't be me :D

The pumps run around 400-500 gph and the overflow can handle up to 600 gph. My dad doesn't want to go to the swap so if someone would get it for me, I could give them the money to get it and some money for getting it for me. :)

Is this figured flow of rate after its vertical return? RC has a good calculator for headloss and estismated flow rate...

Calculator

If you already did that, I'd go with a stronger pump.

Also, since you said your 75 has tempered glass, you can still drill on the back wall instead for a internal overflow.

I could be all wrong tho...

I would take the Jeep Cherokee.

Crap. That sucks. Im using a rio 1700 now which pushes more then 600 gph but I put a ball value on it to restrict the flow. My dad also told me tonight that he wants the 75 to put a FW Ray in.

Andrew, I think you missed a great deal it's exactly what was looking for before Dwayne talked me into the 90 so I could be like Jeff... :D

As for the 1700, I was using a 2100 with a single u-tube for quite a while (years). Something in the flow changed over time and I ended up using 2 u-tubes and it works great again. I can't believe you need to restrict the 1700. does the flow in your tubes push bubbles through? Or does a bubble stay at the top of the tube?

My pump is level with my tank so it pumps more. Say if I had a sump under the stand, then the height it would have to pump would lower the gph. Right now if I run it on full blast, the overflow can't keep up and it just fills up to the tank level with the rest of the tank water.

Something is wrong here if you say the pump is 400-500gph and the overflow is 600gph.

If your sump and all is up next to the tank than you don't have much of a vertical change and I wonder if the water can't drain fast enough.

Did you take out the sponge prefilter?

Duh.... Why didn't I think of that....

There is no sponge. Never used one on it. It's just the same size as the standard u-tubes. I plan on going to Jacks this weekend to pick out the tank size. My quess if they will have to order the tank for me only because they don't have many AGA MeagFlow tanks there. Then ive gotta get the arylic and ect. I also plan on making a new sump thats DIY.

Well I do plan on going to Grays to check out his new store and maybe get a tank from him. Ive got ovewr $350 so that should be enough to get the tank I want.

I stopped by Trilby Tropicals. They are farther than ever on their saltwater section. She still said 6-8 weeks to go though. They had lots of buckets of IO for $39.99. They had a 90 gallon drilled w/ mega flow, stand, versa tops and strip light for $480. I didn't see how much just the tank was.

O. Never been there before. I did turn up my pump rate and the overflow is handing it but I moved the overflow box down into the tank more. Maybe this will solve the problem.
