I love this fish I bought it on Monday and he's all around the tank actively hunting beautiful fish also.

I want a wrasse too... Do they play well with others?

sent from Tapatalk using SwiftKey... if the spelling seems weird, but it is the phone's fault.

Mine is very peaceful, no agression at all. Beautiful fish that did wonders for cleaning up planaria for me when I had an outbreak early on with my tank.

He gets along with everyone which includes a purple tang flame angel and a couple of chromis but he and e candy stripe Hogfish are always fin flashing other then that he's great.

While a beautiful fish and very active..mine eat all my mini starfishs and would constantly attack all my clean up crew. I fed the tank a lot as well, so he wasnt hungry.

I have one in my SPS reef, awesome fish. Peaceful fish too, goes well with just about anything. I have mine with a starry blenny and six other wrasses.

great fish...here's my big boy..

I have had one for 2 years now. Survived a horrible ich outbreak and never showed a spot the whole time. Always hunting and searching. He did kill my 2 porcelain crabs though. But doesnt mess with my emerald crabs or cleaner shrimp. great for eating flatworms as well. they will eat your pods, so a mandarin is out for me. and a screen lid on the tank is a must. mine has recently gotten a little food agressive towards my yellow chrysis wrasse.

I have one as well, he's been in the tank for about a year, gone from 1" to at least 5" maybe 6". We have a love/hate relationship, I love that he keeps the bristle worm population down as well as the asterina stars, I haven't seen a amphipod in months but he attacks and kills my snails, killed my crabs and shrimp, picks at the clam, pulls zoas from the rock and harasses powder blue (once was the king of the tank), every time my clowns lay eggs he treats himself to a free meal ;). I have tried to catch this guy and wouldn't mind if he carpet surfed but unless I drain the tank or trap him somehow he's in the tank for the long haul...

Wow! That is amazing. Doesn't even sound like the same fish.

Mine is the same size, had it for years, never touches a thing.

It's scared of its own shadow.

I keep mine with mandarin, tangs and a yellow coris wrasse. My yellow coris just sits there waiting for me to feed him. However, my Melanarus always actively hunts among the corals, never bothers the tankmates. Just love it.
My asternia stars population is also lowered, maybe because of him -- good boy!!!
