Melanurus Wrasse (Halichoeres melanurus)

Anybody know anything about this wrasse? I liked my Yellow wrasse before he jumped out but I have a lot of yellow int he tank already.

Get it. May compete for food with smaller dragonets and blennies. Good at pest removal. Halichoeres genus is a little pugnacious towards other wrasses at first. Best to be the last wrasse added in tank. I think they are very good in a reef. May eat small shrimp though when the get bigger. When you select the one you want make sure it is fat and eating.

warning: although melanurus are great at Tridacna clam pest control when small they have been known to attack Tridacna when mature.
