Hehehe, these always come down to a countdown before the split !!! :)

Hope all is well Marc.. any words of wisdom to pass along from your flow conversations at the club meeting ? :)

Are your two tanks sharing the same saltwater (with common sump or plumbing)?

No, they are separate. I was wanting to keep the bulk of my top off water in the garage and just have small container in the sump room (20 gal) and under the 55 stand (10 gal).

Another split

Basically the PPS/PPT (power point presentation file type) was about the various options out there. I've thought about putting a PowerPoint section on my site that would be available to other clubs to download and use. I've got a few that I've made myself, and perhaps others would be willing to donate them to the cause as well.

The thing about Powerpoint is that it is a visual aid rather than a full-fledge article. Once downloaded, it can be used by a local speaker to help illustrate his or her points. The speaker should have knowledge about the topic, and possibly even disagree with certain points. If they want to modify it with additional info, they could do so and send me the newer version which I would be happy to host.

I took a bunch of pictures of my tank yesterday, so those will be added to this newest split. ;)

Btw, someone was keeping count some time back. Vanmo wrote in this post that we were on 370. Looks like we must be on Page 387 or 389 now. This thread has split 8 times.

Over the weekend, my son began to complain about intense pain in his stomach. He demanded that he be taken to the hospital, and it ended up that he had appendicitis. Oops. :o

Saturday night he was prepped for emergency surgery, and during the wee hours they extracted the evil item. And here he is on Monday with his girlfriend, almost done with his recovery at the hospital.

So most of the last few days were at the hospital. He'll recover fully, but it'll take about 6 weeks until he's 100% again.

Best of luck to him. I've have had very similar experiences (ruptured large intestine -- removed a section of it along with the appendix ) so I know what he is going through. Tell him to enjoy all the pampering that he will be getting.

I know I've never met him, but tell him that a few of us in Colorado are praying for a speedy and painless recovery!

Best wishes and speedy recovery to your son, Marc ... glad that he got diagnosed in time. ;)

Marc, the same thing happened to my son a few years ago. It's amazing how fast they recover at that age! :)

Hi Marc,

Remember this tank (one on top of the cabinet)? I will be booting it up soon as I decide on lights and secure the plumbing (into the adjacent tank)

 Nick, you think it will still hold water all this time later?

That is one sexy looking tank! ;)

of course it will (and is) - it was built by a stripper who really, really knows the trade - what is the sexiest 150 MH fixture for it? IYO?

Here are some pictures from this week. The tank still doesn't look like I want it to, but I think the lighting is part of the problem.

The A. secale in the front looks pretty bad, but the A. hyacinthus in the back seems to be doing well.

While this milli is darkening, I don't know if it will ever turn purple again!

This is a home-grown frag from the A. nobilis. It is doing well while the parent is not. I banked a couple of pieces with others hoping to keep it alive and in circulation.

Here are some of the Milli frags I salvaged. They too are the wrong color, but alive.

I've really gotten more and more attached to this coral. It is growing nicely. A. granulosa

This little frag now has purple tips, as I anticipated.
