Melting Toadstool due to Chemical Warfare

This guy was a little low and was rubbing up against some green shrooms on his side. I guess they went to battle and the shrooms seem to have done a number on him...

This spot has continuously gotten worse even though the shrooms have since been removed.

I have never had a coral just continue to melt like this. We took a razorblade to him and cut off the damaged tissue...

Tell me we did the right thing?

Yes, you're headed in the right direction. My nem did the same thing to my toad. He actually grew back. I didn't frag off the dead parts. It just came back on its own.

Just wanted to bump this back up.

He actually put out his polyps before the lights went off... First time he has done that in 3 or so days. Maybe its a good sign that all the bad stuff is gone and not bothering him anymore and he can move on with healing.

I have fragged toadstools before by cutting the ring and had no luck with the frags but it seems to not hurt the main body...

If anyone else has any thoughts on this please share.

ya, cutting it off works best, its like do i leave this toxic acid on my hand or jus saw it off hehehe
