Melting Zoas after relocating

Is this a common thing?? It seems that when I relocate some zoas they tend to melt. They are perfectly fine before the move, even after. then a few days down the line one or two starts to melt.

They zoas were at the top of the tank with quite a bit flow, I could not see it too well since it was being blown pretty good. Its been up there for 4 months.
So I decided to move it down the mid section of the tank with low flow and one of the heads melted.
They are under 250w mh 14k.

I would think its the low flow that affected your polyps with some lower light ( FOOD , more light more food ? ).

I'm having the same issue, I had a polyp or 2 of valentines that grew to over a dozen that I move to the bottom and didn't have much flow and ended up shirnking and looking like crap same as my PPE frag.

Yeah they started to shrink in size and closed up and pretty much gone in a few days.
When it was at the top of the tank it had too much flow though, it could not fully open since its being blown pretty good. The stem would stick out pretty far, and I didn't like where it was, so I moved it down to a area with less flow. One polyp opened up and is perfectly fine while the other one is all gone.

The same things happened when I moved my Aog from the top to bottom it also closed up and decided to melt.

Well I think I said this before but I had some PPE'S that went from 3 to 11 in a few months, I moved the frag a few inches if that, they started melting on me without any change ( parameters ) in my tank, lesson learned don't move them if they are happy.
