membrane change question

Hey guys,

How easy is it to change out my RO membrane? I don't go through a lot of water, but I'd like to put in a new one because I never have.

Do I need any special tools? Any advice?

TIA,
Ben

They should last 3-4 years or more. If you test the water after just the RO membrane and it is over 5% of your input TDS then it is time to change. I would hate to see you waste $60-70 if not needed.

There are some guys on RC with 10 yr old RO membranes.

If you do decide to change it you can find step by step instructions with pics at www.melevsreef.com.

Thanks for the replies. I am probably not due for a change then. I've got 3 TDS coming out, which is decent, I think, for a system without DI. I don't have a TDS meter handy, but I'll check it again when I can.

Thanks guys!
Ben
