I have plenty of Enkamat #7010 available. If you want a pc of this let me know. Free of course and locals only, I am not shipping it..

I think I am going to give this a try. Let me check my pump tonight and you guys let me know if it will work for me.

The problem with Enkamat in saltwater is it gets brittle very quick and can break off a get stuck in the pump and cause alot of problems, and you are just adding more maintenance, and i would think i would be always checking on it. I really dont understand why people just dont buy a high end skimmer.

Kent told us that this stuff is very durable and would require less cleaning than a needlewheel.

Why don't I just buy a high end skimmer.........because I can't afford one. Anybody else not have $500 bucks to throw down on a skimmer?

Some of us like to tinker and tweak equipment. Nothing lasts forever. I inject ozone into mine so I knew I would be needed spare enkamat, I am just passing on the overage to others. That is ok to do isn't it?

Thanks Rena, just trying to be helpful, didn't really expect someone from London to understand. Isn't there a London in Arkansas?

Yea, it was kind of a rude thing to say "I really dont understand why people just dont buy a high end skimmer."

It basically sounded belittling

Not worth squabbling over and let's not pollute a thread over someone trolling a local forum, he doesn't know we had a lot of people here do a meshmod meeting.

No harm, no foul.

Anyone doing it to a Sedra I would highly suggest drilling the Ventura a little bigger and getting a better hose for sucking air..

I'm not a local, so I guess I can't get in on this, but can you tell me of a good source for it? I've been wanting to try this mod on my Reef Octopus NW150, but haven't had much luck finding the mesh.

Thanks,
-Kevin

PS: If you do decide to ship, I would be more than happy to pay for shipping and a little extra for your troubles. :)
