Mesh top for wrasses?

Im planning on buying 3 McCosker wrasses and im debating on putting a mesh screen on the tank. Ive had about 5 wrasses/ 25 fish in the past and have not had one to jump out of the tank. (knock on wood) These wrasses are a bit more pricey and i dont want them leaping out. My light sits about 5" from the surface on the 40g breeder.

What would u guys do?

you must cover the tank, unless you enjoy losing fish.

Agreed mccoskers will jump everywhere but back into the tank. Bulk reef supply has a great diy on making one. They cost about 1/3 of what one of the mccoskers cost and it's very easy to make.

Cover it -- I finally got around to making one, when I got a wrasse, and was surprised at how easy it was. And I thought it would be a pain, but I just remove it when I feed/water change.

Exactly right! Very easy to build and a must have to keep these guys living a long life.
