metal halides from home depot?

hi everyone havent been on here in woooof a while . My tank is now 2 yrs old and is doing fine not much in there because of money being so hard to make lol. Ok my question is , Can i use a home depot security light set up to do fit in a hood i plan on building ? Is it the right spectrum? and can i use a reef spectrum mh bulb on that security light?

It depends on the ballast and what types of lamps it will run.

a buddy of mine did this, it ended up not working out in the end,. in this hobby ive been told that we all cant afford to be cheap.. or something along those lines. but darn if it did wrkout huh .
