Most likely it isn't palytoxins, if it were, you'd be very sick by now if not dead. These toxins are the most potent toxins known to man. What you are experiencing is what many have experienced over the years when handling, fragging or touching these polyps. Many will react and release what you are tasting which is sharp and metallic. You should wash the affected areas with warm soap and water. Numbness of the area sometimes follows. Contact your doctor if this persist. Many scoff at the whole concern of palytoxins, I don't, I take it very seriously as we all should. Eye protection, gloves and safely and quickly cleaning up the area you worked in as well has keeping others including small children and pets away from you when fragging and handling polyps
