Meteor Shower Cyphastrea for real?

I have a Meteor Shower that I bought on an online coral auction by a well known coral dealer about 3 months ago. It looks like the picture on LiveAquaria.com. When I got it, I thought it felt hard but put it in the tank anyway since I didn't know much about it. It hasn't done anything, so I took it out yesterday and it feels hard like it's ceramic. LiveAquaria says it grows rather fast under ideal conditions, but this one has made no change.
Is it normal for these to be hard or did I in fact get a ceramic imitation? It's mounted on a plug.

They have calcium structure so they are hard and encrust with a thin layer. A picture will be helpful.
Can you see the polyps.
They dont like too much light. They indeed are relatively fast growing once the settle in.

Here's a picture of mine after it was stung by a nearby coral. You can see the one side with the skeleton exposed and the side with live tissue.
