MH lamp temp on PVC

I am getting ready to install my MH but the way I wanted to install them was sideways (legthwise) but one on the lamps end up pretty close to a pvc pipe (about 4 inches away. Is this to close to the pipe? I don't want it to burn a hole through it. I can hang the lamps forward/back but I would not be able to use my T5s with them then.

Any comments?

Thanks

Is the pipe part of the filtration system--I would also be concerned about it heating up the temp of the water inside it

the pipe (if it is full of water) cannot get a hole melted through it.
because the distortion pressure is over 400 psi at 73F. and 100 psi at 180F but through conduction from water to pipe the flowing water will not let the pipe get to the temperature that it will burst. It can however become brittle because of the UV. PVC and CPVC are not meant for longterm exposure to UV rays. If you use grey PVC (electrical) it is IPS like PVC but is resistant to UV breakdown.

But as CAPN said it might heat up your water too much.

Hope this helps.
