MH/PC combo on ebay

Has anyone tried or know anything about these lights? They suggest you only use Odessey or Coralife bulbs, is there any reason why you couldn't use another type of bulb such as a Phoenix 14K?
I know it's cheap for a reason, but if it works I wouldn't mind trying it. The Odessey bulbs sound cheap, but I guess I could upgrade to Coralife.

personally I would avoid them, there is no ul listing, no customer support and everything is a no name brand built in china

I think this is the same light as the Odyssea's that Aquatraders sell...I have two of them (a duel MH 36" on my frag tank and a 24" on my QT tank)...the newer version is a lot better than the old version but still has some short commings...BUT...for the price I think they are a heck of a deal...there is a huge thread about them here on RC...the biggest thing people are doing is replacing the ballast and the bulbs...I probably will try new bulbs when the originals need replaced...but I don't plan on swapping out ballasts I am getting great growth on all my SPS in my frag tank.

As Oldreefer mentioned, there has been some concern by a few on that thread about them not being UL...but to me that doesn't make them junk...they seem well built inside...

I would go check out the thread and make your own decision on if they are for you or not...but be ready to spend sometime! I think the thread has been split like 4 or 5 times in the past 2 years...thousands of replies...

I recently purchased one of thier MH lights...it was the 48 incher, it works great.... got it and one of the MH bulbs were cracked .. called them up had a new one within the week.

I got the product in 7 days via ups ground ... I ordered from aquatraders. its a heck of a deal and seems to be working great.
