What is the temp difference between 175 and 250 bulbs. My tank runs 80 now w/2 175 if I change to 2x250 will it raise much?

I think you will see some rise but not too much. 400 would really crank up the heat though.

Anyone else, I really want to save on the chiller this winter and buy a wavebox, but only if my temp stays within 82.

I know this is not the answer you are looking for, but: it depends

It all depends on how much the MH's are contributing to the tank temps. How high they are from the water, how well air is circulating near the tank (do you have a canopy?) etc.

What is the tank temp with lights off?

Lights on 80, The bulbs are 8" offthe water and the canopy is vented with 3 fans.
