Hi I have 2 250w metal halides I got almost a week ago used they put off a nice bright blue light now its a white light with alittle blue are they going out or what's going on?
Well they were used so I dunno maybe my eyes just have gotten used to it where it seems white or what my kids even notice it. I just turned them off fir like 20min turned them back on and there blue again!
Yes that's normal. Once they're past their initial burn in a blue bulb will still start out really blue until it gets up to normal operating temp. It gets whiter as it gets hotter and will eventually level out at it's normal color temp.
I don't really need them now my anemone decided to get sucked into my power head it was doing si great too! But I'm hope to get some coral its my first saltwater tank and my kids are really getting in to it!
