Mhlle

Fix whats causing it.

IMO, HLLE is basically a general system problem, and can't be nailed down to one thing. I've seen it show up from stray voltage, improper diets, even a broken canister filter that was turning carbon into dust....

You have to figure out what is bothering the fish, and fix it.

My understanding is more & better food, lots of algea based foods, use selcon and other vitamin additives to soak the food in..

miztic, but Hippos are planktivores not algae grazers, so I doubt lack of greens causes it. It may be bad nutrition, but it may not.

Thats the first time i've heard that? I thought all tangs & surgeonfish were algea eaters.. liveaquaria and a few other sites i found with google sure seem to think you need to feed a hippo/regal/blue tang algea based foods ..

Improve nutrition in the foods you are feeding. Soak in selcon, garlic extract, etc. Feed a varied, healthy diet, keep tank parameters in check, and the HLLE should go away on its own.
