Mhucasey's SPS obsession

Really pleased to hear things are going as well as they can given the situation Matt, you have a lot of good mates on here that genuinely care about you buddy. :)

Just do what needs doing to keep the demons at bay with your reef, the bug will bite again big time down the track as you already know Matt. In the mean time i will do my best to offer sagely and wise advice just as you yourself have done in your role as knowitall of the month ...... :reading:

As always Matty - i got ya back !

P.S. i want all your pups.......... all of them.....

Glad your spirits are lifting brother. I couldn't even imagibe the pain your family must have gone through, but im glad things are doing better at least. Anyways keep us posted and good luck Matt

Hey Matt, good to hear you are getting back on top of things. The tank still looks pretty darn good!
I like the gutter guard baskets. I may steal that idea.
Tell me, what would be your top 5 books that you read out of the ridiculous amount of books you read!

Top 5 books all time?
That would be very hard to pin down as many of my favorites are part of a series. My very favorite book is "Words of Radiance" which is book 2 of a series called "The Stormlight Archive" by Brandon Sanderson. 1100 pages of genius.

If I cheat and select favorite Series:
Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erickson
Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson
The Dark Tower series by Stephen King
The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan/Brandon Sanderson
The Broken Empire series by Mark Lawrence

Those are all amazing and big series, with Mistborn and Broken Empire series being the most accessible for less hardcore readers.

Thanks, Matt.. When I was around 10, my aunt gave me a book called The Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula Leguin. It was the first of many many fantasy books I read throughout my teens but I stopped reading anything but reef related writing in my 20s and then never got back into reading books..
My brother has mentioned a couple of the books you listed as he is still an avid reader and I know the genre has evolved and exploded on the past couple decades.. I have to get back into reading!!!

Are ya kiddin' me man? That's exactly what I did for my Matrix! Need to steal the handle idea though, thanks. :p

Don't worry too much about your tank you're waaaaaaay too good with SPS and I bet you'll have a beautiful reef in no time again.

I'm a big believer in the benefits of reading, especially in this day of Internet entertainment where attention spans are getting shorter and shorter. Kindle makes it so easy to get books and allows you to read books on so many devices so you can read anywhere. 30 minutes of reading a day improves your focus and concentration, and the worlds are so rich and amazing! When I was young I read like crazy and I had gotten away from it until about 4 years ago, now it's a big part of who I am.

I was wandering through lowes trying to find baskets for holding the matrix and came across the gutter guard- 3 bucks for enough to make at least 10 baskets. I use the crochet circles from Joanne's for the bottoms and they work great! I have 4 full baskets now:)

Matt,
I kid you not I was going to make something similar to the basket out of gutter guard just last week.
Discussion was made with another reefer to see if it was a reef safe material to use.
That's so coincidental it's almost unbelievable. lol

Glad to see some of the stars matt, they seem to be very healthy with great pe!
Fts looks beautiful bud and leucosternon has grown much!Is he still model citizen towards the other guys?

Well, Matt the corals you have posted barely seem bothered by the neglect.
You'll have the tank humming along in no time.
They look great.

Hi Matt, sorry I'm late to the party. I'm so sorry to hear about my mom, and I'm very glad that you got to see her before she passed.

It's tough when you have "life" distracting you from the tank and it goes through a really rough patch. The rebound always takes sooo long. As always there are some start performers, and just keep looking at them instead of the struggling ones! That's what I do! :D

Glad to see you back to posting. The corals that survived look fantastic, good to see as well.

Gutter guard, I think I have some of this and never thought to use it. :D
