Miami Beach Reefers- Chloramines?

Chloramines are been used as well in the South Kendall area. The stores down here have been recommending Catalytic carbon for a while, but I did not believe the sales pitch. I'm using Dr. G's catalytic carbon and the ammonia blaster and my di media is lasting twice as much now before having to replace.
