Michael's pistol shrimp

I got this shrimp and haven't seen nor heard it since it was placed in the tank. I found a hole under the liverock though and when the yellow watchman goby was added, the goby moved into the same hole. Now neither come out. how do i know they can get any food?

You really don't need to feed them, they will find food. I have one in my sump and I only give it some food about once per month. It's been there for over a year.

I directed food at the hole and I saw the watchman come out for a second. It's such a chicken, it won't let anyone see it.

I've had this issue before. the watchman would basically bury itself down in the shrimps hole. the only view I could get was from the underside of the tank. could always point a powerhead in the direction of the hole to get food towards them. I now have an orange spotted goby and tiger pistol that live under a rock in the center front of my tank.
