Micro Bubbles in AP24

So I recently put my sapphire skimmer in my 24 aquapod
and in order to make that work right, I put the clear acrylic rectangle piece in the overflow to make the water level in the chambers lower..
and from the water coming over the overflow I'm getting a lot of micro-bubbles in the tank..
And I know the skimmer is putting out quite a bit as well from the break-in period, but I turned off the skimmer and pumps and let the bubbles rise, and then turned the pumps on and left the skimmer off, and I'm still getting the bubbles.. anyone got any idea's on how to fix this?
I cut part of my blue sponge that came with the tank into 2- 2"x3"x6" pieces and put them in between the center divider and skimmer and that didn't help too much..
That's all I have for filtration at the current time..

You might check the connection from your return pump to the tank outlet. I know that if that is loose and can suck air, it turns into a mini-venturi, kicking a lot of bubbles up. You might also try building a bubble trap in your return chamber. That could help.

what pump are you running is it the stock pump that came with your tank or are you using a maxi-jet?

I replaced my main pump with a MJ-1200
Before I added the skimmer, and the extra overflow piece, I didn't have any bubbles in the tank..
Only after I put the extra spacer in the overflow in to lower the level in the back chamber is when I got the bubbles..

try putting filter floss in the second chamber where your return pump is that might help just make sure to change the floss out once a week. i have 2 mj900's in my second chamber along with 2 bags of chemi-pure and in chamber one i have my sapphire skimmer. i dont have any micro bubbles at all in my tank. but i do get them when its time to clean the screens on the pumps but once i clean unclog the screens i have no micro bubbles. also i have a topless tank so i made a stand out of eggcrate to raise the skimmer up so that i could raise the water level up in the back chamber. also try putting your stock pump back on and shut down the skimmer and see if the stock pump shoots micro bubbles.

heres how my skimmer is.

I have the hood on my AP, I dont run an open top..
My tank also heats up to very high temperatures during the day unless I keep my house freezing.. which I cant afford to pay my power bill if I do so..
So back to the bubbles..
The chamber on the left is chamber 2, and the one on the right is chamber 1.. correct?
If so.. I have my skimmer in chamber one behind the overflow.. and a mj-1200 in chamber 2 for my main pump.. I'm getting ready to make a closed loop next week with an extra mj-1200 that will also be in chamber 2..
I'm thinking about putting filter floss inbetween my overflow and skimmer to try and stop the bubbles.. because even with my skimmer off I get a lot of bubbles because of the water falling over my overflow to the lower water level..
Anyone got any other ideas besides the filter floss? Anyone seen any or have any nice mods?

I'm open top, and keep the water level in the rear low for the skimmer (originally had the hood, so I went with the sapphire, then changed to the Sunpod). I'm not using anything to partially block the overflow. I did exactly what you proposed. I stick a handful of floss between the skimmer and the overflow wall. It breaks the waterfall effect, catches enough detritus that I'd rather be rid of, and helps keep the sapphire up against the rear wall so there's no splashing onto the blue perforated top which draws air for the venturi. I change the floss 2X a week, and have reduced the noise, reduced the bubbles generated by splashing, and have a cheap, disposable mechanical filter.

I can vouch for your idea. Good luck.
