Micro bubbles Tunze skimmer 9010 help please

I have the above skimmer set up behind a false weir (see photographs) in my new set-up (which is just cycling at the moment). The skimmer is set-up as for in tank use and is mounted on a tunze magnet.
The problem i have is that it is kicking out a lot of micro bubbles, even though the skimmer has been running for three weeks (with live rock)

My question is, how can i get rid of the bubbles?, could i fit the outlet pipe and sponge onto the skimmer? would this work?
You have to remember that the skimmer could not be placed on the bottom of the tank as per sump mounted as the tank is obviously too deep.

Would it be possible to set the skimmer up as per in sump but still hang it on the side of the tank with the magnet?, would this be an option?

Any help or advice would be appreciated,

kind regards,

Peter

You could set it up for in sump but the base plate would have to rest on a solid surface. I would close the door at the front to reduce this problem and give it a bit more time.

Thanks for the quick reply Roger.
I guess using the pipe and sponge is a no go then, as i can not rest it on a solid surface.
It has been up and running for three weeks, how much longer would you expect the bubbles to last?

One other question, when are we going to get the nano streams here in the U.K.? have you any firm dates yet?

kind regards,

Peter.

I had a lot of microbubbles when my set up was new. They gradually disappeared over time. Similarly, I used to have to keep my venturi screw most of the way in and now, it is most of the way out. Not really sure what causes the problem or its resolution. Both my local dealer and Roger advised just to hang in and wait it out. It was hard to follow this advice (as I was impatient), but they were correct and the problem did resolve as the tank matured.
