Microalgae paste vs live phyto cultures?

Have most breeders gone to the algae paste vs growing phyto to feed rotifers & bbs?

I've got some roti chow that I'm feeding the rotifers now but was curious as to what the guru's are using and what is the least labor intensive.

Algae paste is perfect for culturing rots.Bs could be given something cheaper;a yeast/Spirulina mix.

Luis thanks alot.

Luis I have 2-3 day old percula's swimming. First time ever for me.

It seems like a guessing game to know if the clowns r eating or not. I'm filtering rotifers with a paper coffee filter and then inverting it into the fry tank and hopefully they are getting some rots....... any tips or pointers?

Thanks

After awhile you get to recognize the difference between a larval fish with a full belly (slightly bulging) and one without.

For raising rots I prefer using live phytoplankton with a supply of cryopaste kept in reserve for use in case of phyto culture crashes.

I use Instant Algae and my same rotifer cultures have been going strong for over a year now. You can't beat how easy it is to use (take it out of the frig and feed) compared to having to grow live phyto and worrying about it crashing. There is enough work involved with trying to raise the fry so for me easy is best!
