if I am not mistaken, doesn't bacteria require both nitrate and phosphate in order to work effectively? that is why it is always mentioned to stop using GFO if carbon/bacteria method is used to reduce nitrate and phosphate.
according to the neo zeo pdf its perfectly fine to run GFO and carbon. I believe Zeovit may believe otherwise. either way I could care less as I'm not interested in running the full systems. I've stopped the carbon and just dose bacteria. IF phophates are needed then there should be no point in continuing carbon maintanence dosing once they are at zero or very low. I dont have problematic phosphates or nitrates, I'm just doing it for clearer water and healther looking tank. the nitrates went away within 2 weeks of usng MB7 and biofuel. the biofuel has been collecting dust as of now it seems to do more harm than good.
