Where should I place my acan frag it has 3 big heads and 2 newer ones right now they are sorta angled in a hole in the rock. When I put them in yesterday they open up and some of the flesh was touching a neighboring rock. I don't know if they would encrust on to the other rock or if the frag should be flat. I have used google and you get mixed placement

If they are opening and look good, and you like them there, leave them alone. I have over a dozen acans frags in a 60x24x24, even some that got knocked around a lot by a wrasse. They are all growing like crazy. Don't be surprised however if sometimes they look terrible as they go thru cycles. Not necessary to lay flat. View attachment 369370

But they don't encrust on to rocks

They will tend to ball up around their existing plug/rock, but will eventually encrust and spread on rock.

I did move it down a little bit and is more flat I like it better so far

I was stupid when I put mine in a little depression in the live rock. They do grow so fast in some aquariums, I ended up having to cut the rock apart to get it back out to frag it.
