Midas Blenny Questions.

Hey, Reefers!

Anyone here have or had a Midas Blenny? If so how long did you have? And if it died why? Mine just passed away and I read online that they can have a 2-4 year lifespan. I didn't get him as a juvenile and I've had him for a year. All other fish are fine and I haven't added fish to my tank for about two months. Also I keep SPS so if I had water quality issues I'd notice right away.

Let me hear your thoughts please.

I am currently going on 3yrs with mines. He's about 3.5" now. Never had any issues with it. Still eating good and very active. Have you noticed any aggression towards them.

Great fish. Peaceful, with a great personality. I lost mine a while back - he jumped through the TINY space between my mesh screen top.

Nope. He kept to himself and people didnt bother him. He even ate like a pig the day he died. The first owner had him for 7 months and I had him for 11. So that's 1.5 years accounted for. Who know what age he was caught at. I miss him he was such a clown. I'm going to get another one.

Yeah mine was 5" long at least so he must have been old! Well good lookin out! I have a new one and he's small, eating well, coming out of QT in 3 weeks.

Time will tell. I just got one that is about 4". Beautiful fish I got it from LA and was hoping it would be a little smaller. Mine is more of a golden color with a pink cast and of course blue eyes.
