Midas Blenny

I would like to get some feedback from fellow aquarist that have had a Midas Blenny in the past and was wondering what type of food yours ate thx?

Mine was a foavorite and I'm looking to replace him. He colided with a rabbit and succumed to the venomous spines.

It ate everything I fed flakes, pellets, mysids, squid whatever!

You do need a cover as they jump. Mine lived in an overflow for several months once!

Mine started off with Mysis Shrimp and Spirulina Brine Shrimp. He's now eating NLS pellets and Formula 2 pellets. Every once in a while I go back to the frozen, but pellets all day everyday.

I've got one. Sometimes it swims in the water column and other times, it perches up on some coral. It's got a very good appetite and it will take literally anything I put in the tank to feed, from flakes to brine shrimp to mysis shrimp, etc.

I have a small midas that found a large snail shell (empty) and loves to curl up inside it, making the shell its home base. Its kind of hilarious to see him back into the shell and curl up inside, with those big blue eyes peeking out.

So far I feed alternate marine cruisine and mysis shrimp, but after reading this thread will be trying NLS pellets.

Great fish. Mine isn't finicky... eats everything. Can be a bit of a jerk to the anthias sometimes, but otherwise plays well with others. He's about 3X the size of when I first got him.

I have an African Midas. My favorite fish. Lots of personality, but certainly eats like a pig. He'll eat anything and everything, though he greatly prefers mysis and formula1 flake.

I haven't had any problems with jumping, though he'll poke his head up above the water's surface as if to check out what is above. The tank has eggcrate covering which seems to be plenty good for an adult Midas.

Eats like a pig...anything. In QT he was yellow colored for a month, then in the DT he turned to a darker purple color for 3-4 months and stayed na little rock hole. Once I put a pair of open swimming Yellow Assessors in, he converted back to bright yellow and spends more time free swimming.

I first saw one at a fellow reefers place, he followed me all over the tank with his blue eyes, so I had to get one. He is a great fish, always comes out when I come around, I'm sure he's begging for food! I feed them mysis, ocean nutrition flakes and NLS, and he eats everything.
